Seychelles has become a sanctuary for rarest of species. Most of the floras are to be found all around the islands and you can enjoy the sight of 81 unique species of plants. They are being protected in National Parks and reserves since they are endemic to the Seychelles.
The Coco de Mer coconut is another rarest species, which is a native to Seychelles. This is the largest and heaviest coconut in the world. It can be found in the garden of Vallee de Mai, positioned in Praslin and Curieuse Island or planted in the Botanical garden on Mahe along with other exotic plants. The unique Seychelles Black Parrot is also found in this pre-historic forest of Vallee de Mai.
Some of the mangrove here are also endemic, they are mostly found on Curieuse and Mahe Island. Another amazing plant we have in the Seychelles, found high up on the hills of Mahe is a rebel of the botanical world which gets its food from insects that it attracts, kills and digests. It is called Pitcher plant.
While visiting, you can also make your beloved smile with the fragrance of Vanilla Orchid. It is mainly cultivated on La Digue for its mind blowing essence not to forget the beautiful Bois Meduse; it is quite unique to Seychelles. Look out for some beautiful flowers while on your trip to Seychelles.
Most of these plants, flowers, nuts and shrubs can be seen in nature trails Mahe, Praslin, La Digue, Silhouette and Curieuse and cousin.
