Custom Formalities in Seychelles

While planning for Seychelles travel, a few custom formalities need to be considered by the vacationers.

Check out the given below duty free allowance for perfumes, tobacco and liquor. For instance, you can carry 400 cigarettes or 500g of tobacco. Similarly, 2 liters of Spirits or 2 liters of wines, as well as 200 ml of Perfume is allowed.

While departure, all your personal belongings that need to be re-exported are exempted from any kind of tax. Besides the entire above mentioned list, you can also import tax exempted video camera, musical instrument, portable electronic equipment and several other sports or leisure equipments.

In Seychelles, there is a complete prohibition of importing offensive weapons, such as mace, swords, daggers , firearms, ammunition etc. To import such weapons, you need to have permit in advance  from the respective officials and relevant authorities. This prohibition is applied to other arms such as pyrotechnic products, fireworks and explosives.

Similarly import of various plants or plant parts, animals or animal products or any other radioactive substances, drugs, chemicals or medicines are prohibited. You need to take permit in advance from the relevant authorities and officials.

If a passenger imports some food items then its value should not exceed SCR3000 personal or household allowance. To exceed this value, you need to obtain permit. It would be advisable for travelers to pay tax in cash, as credit cards are not acceptable.
