The second edition of the Eco-Healing Seychelles Marathon is program to take place on Sunday February 15, 2009, amidst a wave of excitement which bode well for the return of the event next year.
The Eco-Healing marathon is expected to be even bigger and better next in 2009 and the organizers have said that the event has achieved its aim of promoting healthier minds by letting competitors run through dazzling panorama while breathing fresh unpolluted air. This second edition of the marathon is to start at 6 am. instead of 7 am and that instead of just two distances 42km and 10km there would be a third course of 21km. Blue Ocean Events is the company chosen by the Seychelles government to organize a yearly week of regattas named "The Seychelles Regatta" from 2009 onwards.
The Seychelles Regatta is an exclusive, semi-professional competition bringing together 20 companies that will sail the superb sites of the Seychelles Islands for more than eight days. The competition will consist of 36' to 57' catamarans and crews of 6 to 8 people, most coming from Belgium, France and Great Britain. Having the advantage to fish in some of the world's best fishing spot; this year's competition will also include a deep sea fishing competition along with the sailing races. The competition will also have the participation of big names in sailing. This event is ideal for them to explore and see the fantastic environment of the 115 islands of Seychelles. Michel Desjoyeaux, Vendee Globe 200/2001 and the Transat 2004 winner among many other races, has already registered for the annual event saying he would not miss it for the world!

The festival will feature professional musicians, choristers and soloists, both vocal and instrumental, from several countries. For its 6th edition the festival organisation is presenting a selection of music from the Baroque and Romantic periods.

Each year on the 25th May, Seychelles celebrates its African and Kreol culture with this vibrant festival of music, dance, art and cuisine. Fête Afrique is a multi-artistic festival, a colorful expression of African and Creole culture. The event has a great atmosphere and includes some of the best regional, national and international performers including musicians, dancers, artists and photographers. This is a fun and lively event with activities for young and old alike that really shows off the colour and vibrancy of the Seychellois way of life.
This annual event was first celebrated in 1999 and has since gained popularity as it has seen the participation of renowned regional artists such as Nandipa Madikiza, fashion designer from South Africa; 'Soley Leve' music & dance group from Mauritius and many more...

| One of the most exciting events of Seychelles is the Seychelles Round Table Regatta which will be held in August. This annual FREE 2-day fun fair event is held at Beau Vallon beach with water sporting events being the focus. This events includes activities for young and old alike, such as Yacht race, swimming competitions, amateur boxing tournament, beach tugs-of-war, live music, souvenir items and a traditional craft market which you can participate. The entertainment is served with plenty of food and drink including regional specialties such as spicy coconut curries and "la daube", a delicious dish made from breadfruit, yams, cassavas and bananas.

South East monsoon sailfish tournament |

The one day competition will start from 0500hrs to 1700hrs.This is a tournament where numerous baited lines or lures are towed behind a boat, attracts competitors from across the region. Boats set off before dawn and do not return to shore again until the evening so participants are guaranteed a full day's entertainment on the beautiful waters of the Indian Ocean. This is a popular event that attracts many local fishermen as well as the odd international guest.

SUBIOS is an annual underwater film and image festival combining a range of daytime diving and snorkeling activities with free evening programs of films, video and slide presentations by acclaimed guest speakers from around the world as well as local ones.
SUBIOS 2009 will feature a variety of events and presentations throughout the festival. It will comprise also several photographic and video graphic contests for visitors and locals alike in the 'Best Image', 'Best Video', 'Best Image of Seychelles' and 'Best Local Video' categories where the top prizes for foreign entries are return tickets to the islands plus 5 days of free accommodation.
